Beaches serve as the catalyst for Anandita’s designs. “I wanted to incorporate sea waves into fabric so when you wear it, it looks like you’re wearing water,” she says. She was heavily inspired by the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Anandita has been looking to water and waves for inspiration. “Time goes on but the river also goes on…” As for symbolism, Anandita says she wanted to invoke peace. Her next design collection is also likely to be nature-inspired.
